Call for Applications: Francis-Stephen Award 2027

The Österreichische Gesellschaft zur Erforschung des 18. Jahrhunderts (ÖGE 18) invites applications for the Francis-Stephen Award 2027, which honors outstanding dissertations on the history and culture of the Habsburg Monarchy in the eighteenth century. Works written in German, French or English qualify if they were formally approved between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026. Applicants submit the thesis in both bound and electronic form together with a short CV to the society, which is based at the Institut für Österreichische Geschichtsforschung of the Universität Wien. Winners receive a cash prize and present their work at the award ceremony in the winter term 2027/2028.
