The Frankel Institute for Advanced Judaic Studies at the University of Michigan invites scholars from the humanities and social sciences to apply for its 2027–2028 residential fellowship. The theme year explores how Jewishness was constructed among premodern Jewish communities and thinkers, uncovering historical models of Jewish belonging and reshaping our understanding of what it meant to be a Jew in the premodern world. The fellowship is open to scholars, experts and practitioners from a range of disciplines.
