Call for Papers: Migrations and Multiple Homelands, Special Issue of Pe’amim
The editorial board of Pe’amim invites submissions for a thematic issue arising from the international workshop Migrations and Multiple Homelands, held from February 15 to 17, 2026. The issue focuses on Jewish migrations and the changing idea of homeland in Sephardic and Mizrahi contexts. Multiple homelands can be approached as the transmission of legal and family traditions across pre-modern borders, as the negotiation of loyalty and citizenship in the passage from empires to nation-states, or as a modern reconstruction of home through language, cinema and memory. The issue asks what the study of Jews from Islamic lands contributes to debates on migration and transnationalism. Articles of up to 10,000 words are accepted in English or Hebrew and undergo double-blind peer review. Submissions are open to workshop participants and to the wider scholarly community.
Deadline for submissions: November 15, 2026 | DETAILS
