Call for Applications: David Baumgardt Memorial Fellowship
The Leo Baeck Institute in New York awards one David Baumgardt Memorial Fellowship a year, worth up to 7,500 dollars. It supports research connected to the writings and the scholarly interests of David Baumgardt, among them ethics and the Wissenschaft des Judentums as well as the modern intellectual history of German-speaking Jewry. The fellowship requires extensive work with the holdings of the institute in New York, in particular the David Baumgardt Collection, and must be used within the year in which it is granted. Travel costs and support for family members are not covered. Applications are open to doctoral candidates and postdocs affiliated with an accredited institution of higher education and include a research description, a financial plan and two letters of recommendation.
