The Salo W. and Jeannette M. Baron Young Scholars Awards for Scholarly Excellence in Research of the Jewish Experience recognizes outstanding early-career scholars from all disciplines whose work engages the Jewish experience. Eligible applicants must have completed an exceptional master’s thesis and be currently pursuing a PhD dissertation, or have recently completed a PhD, on a topic related to the Jewish experience. Their research should address perceptions and understandings of Judaism within the wider societies in which Jewish communities have lived, including, but not limited to, the history, culture, religion, institutions, and persecution of the Jewish people.
