Violence in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (1569–1795), Vilnius

The Vilnius Branch of the German Historical Institute Warsaw and the Research Centre Ukraine (Max Weber Foundation) invite proposals for a two-day workshop on violence in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (1569–1795), taking place in Vilnius on November 12–13, 2026. The workshop seeks to bring together scholars working on inter-estate, inter-religious, inter-ethnic, and gendered violence, as well as violent discourses and historiographical approaches to the field. Accommodation costs are covered; travel expenses may be reimbursed, with priority for early-career scholars.
