Call for Paper: Western Jewish Studies Association Conference 2027, Spertus Institute Chicago
The Western Jewish Studies Association invites proposals for its annual conference, held on April 4 and 5, 2027 at the Spertus Institute in Chicago, the first time the association meets in the city. Proposals are welcome in all areas of Jewish Studies regardless of discipline, geographical focus, or period. Some sessions are traditionally devoted to the experiences of Jews in the American West, to pedagogical approaches, and to contemporary Jewish issues. This year the association particularly welcomes proposals on Jewish history in Chicago and the Midwest as well as on the history, impact, and challenges of independent institutions of Jewish higher learning in the United States. Papers, panels, and roundtables may be submitted, with panels and roundtables preferred.
