Call for Paper: Jewish Studies in Challenging Times. Junior Scholars and the Making of the Field, University of Wrocław

The Tadeusz Taube Department of Jewish Studies at the University of Wrocław will host a three-day conference from September 13 to 15, 2027, in Wrocław on the current state and future of Jewish Studies. The conference addresses the range of challenges affecting the humanities as a whole and Jewish Studies in particular, as well as the role of junior scholars in shaping the field. The regional focus lies on Central and Eastern Europe, with particular attention to Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Ukraine, where Jewish Studies face comparable structural tasks. There are no geographical limits, however, and contributions from any region and on any context are welcome.
