Together and Apart: Muslims, Jews, and Christians in Medieval Spain. PAMLA, Seattle

This special session at the 123rd Annual PAMLA Conference invites proposals for papers examining texts produced by Muslims, Jews, and Christians in medieval Spain. The session centers on the coexistence and flourishing of these three cultures as well as the tensions that ultimately challenged their collaboration. Proposals may address written works as well as other texts such as painting, architecture, and music. The conference takes place November 12-15, 2026 in Seattle.
