Position: Leslie J. Raffel Chair in Antisemitism Studies, Indiana University Bloomington
The Institute for the Study of Contemporary Antisemitism, housed within the Robert A. and Sandra S. Borns Jewish Studies Program at Indiana University Bloomington, invites applications for the Leslie J. Raffel Chair in Antisemitism Studies. The appointment is at the rank of research professor, open rank with preference for associate or full professor, and is expected to begin on January 1, 2027 for a term of up to five years, subject to review and with possible renewal. The chair is a full-time research appointment and is expected to provide intellectual leadership by reinforcing research initiatives, convening scholars across disciplines, expanding partnerships, and pursuing external funding. Candidates should be conversant with the long history of anti-Jewish hostility while focusing primarily on its most consequential present-day expressions. A PhD or equivalent terminal degree, an established record of scholarship on antisemitism, and demonstrated expertise in its contemporary forms are required.
