The Department of History at Rutgers – The State University of New Jersey invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor in Middle East History, based in New Brunswick. The department is especially interested in candidates working on the history of the Ottoman Empire and its provinces, and welcomes scholarship that connects with its strengths, among them environmental history and the history of women, gender and sexuality. The position carries a 2-2 teaching load and contributes to the department’s Ph.D. program and its M.A. in Global and Comparative History. Candidates must hold a doctorate in History at the time of application. The academic year salary will not be less than USD 82,110.
