Position: Director of Collections and Exhibitions, Jewish Museum Berlin

The Jewish Museum Berlin is offering a Position as Director of Collections and Exhibitions. The planned start date is January 1, 2027. Reporting directly to the Museum Director and serving on the senior leadership team, the postholder is responsible for exhibitions, archives, library, the collection departments, and collections management, including budgetary and personnel responsibility. Duties include the strategic development of the exhibition program, the development of the collection, archive, and library holdings including provenance research and digitalization, oversight of storage, conservation and emergency preparedness, as well as building national and international partnerships. The post requires a master's degree in the humanities or a related field, knowledge of German-Jewish history and Judaism, extensive leadership and management experience, several years of professional experience in collection-related work, and excellent written and spoken German and English. Experience in change management and fundraising and knowledge of Hebrew are desirable. The full-time position comprises 39 hours per week at salary group E15 of the TVöD and is initially limited to two years with the option of permanent employment.
