Grant: Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship 2027-28, Israel Institute
The Israel Institute invites applications for its Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship for placements beginning in the 2027-2028 academic year. The three-year grant supports Israeli scholars in pursuing multi-year postdoctoral positions at leading universities in the United States. Eligible host institutions are public universities ranked in the top 125 of U.S. News and World Report's Top Public Schools and private universities in the top 100 of its Best National Universities, provided the Institute does not already have a placement there. Grants at public institutions cover up to the average postdoctoral salary in the relevant department, while awards at private institutions are lower and generally require additional funding from the host or other sources. Applicants must have strong English skills, a fully conferred doctoral degree by July 31 of the year the placement begins, and demonstrated expertise on Israel through their dissertation or at least two peer-reviewed publications. Fellows teach at least four courses per year, at least three of them Israel-focused, and speak about Israel at four events outside the classroom.
