This annual conference of the Ben-Zvi Institute for the Study of Jewish Communities in the East explores illness, health, and healing among Jewish communities in the lands of Islam from the late seventh century to the present. Topics include folk and institutional medicine, sites of healing, disease and disability, transfers of medical knowledge, health and interreligious encounter, and the material culture of medicine. Scholars* are invited to submit individual papers or thematic panels in Hebrew or English.
