The Hadassah-Brandeis Institute at Brandeis University awards grants each year as part of the HBI Research Awards to support research or artistic projects in Jewish women's and gender studies across a range of disciplines. The awards support work that uses the lens of gender to inform the field of Jewish studies, brings insights from Jewish studies to women's and gender studies, or explores interreligious collaborations between Jewish women and women of other faiths. Categories for 2027 include gender and antisemitism, gender and the Holocaust, gender and Jewish-Black relations, Jewish feminism and Jews in feminism, Jews, gender and disability studies, LGBTQ Jewish studies, women's rights and religious law, as well as Yishuv, contemporary Israel and Zionism. Awards are made to graduate students, early career and established researchers, applications are open regardless of gender or religion, and applications from outside the United States are welcome.
