Call for Papers: And Truth Is Absent. Lies, Concealment, and Information Manipulation

The Department of Israel Heritage and the School of Communication at Ariel University invite proposals for a conference on March 31 and April 1, 2027 at Ariel University. Under the title And Truth Is Absent, the conference examines lies, concealment and the manipulation of information from antiquity to the age of artificial intelligence, in Jewish as well as in global contexts. The proposed topics range from concealment in Jewish philosophy and esoteric thought to forged manuscripts and book burning, and from political propaganda to synthetic content generated by artificial intelligence. Talks last about 20 minutes and are followed by ten minutes of discussion. Abstracts of around 300 words can be submitted in Hebrew or English. Acceptances will be issued in December 2026.
