CfP: Conference on After the Holocaust, University of Florida
The Bud Shorstein Center for Jewish Studies at the University of Florida and the Goldstein-Goren Diaspora Research Center at Tel Aviv University invite submissions for an international conference examining Jewish life in the first decade after the Holocaust taking place in February 15–17, 2027 at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida. This formative yet still understudied period offers critical insight into how survivors reimagined and reconstructed their personal lives, communities, and identities in the aftermath of destruction. Foregrounding everyday life, emotions, and intimacy as central analytical categories, the conference adopts a global and comparative perspective and intertwines them with questions of migration, community rebuilding, and cultural and religious reconstruction. The keynote will be delivered by Prof. Eliyana R. Adler of Binghamton University. A volume of selected articles is planned.
Deadline for proposals: August 1, 2026 | DETAILS
