Call for applications: Two Doctoral Positions, Vienna Doctoral School of Theology and Research on Religion

The Vienna Doctoral School of Theology and Research on Religion (VDTR) at the University of Vienna invites applications for two fully funded doctoral positions in theology or research on religion. The positions run for three years and allow candidates to pursue a disciplinary PhD at the University of Vienna while benefiting from an interdisciplinary network and an active peer culture across disciplinary boundaries. Applicants must hold a Master's degree in a theological discipline or in a humanities discipline, explicitly including Jewish studies. Employment begins on October 1, 2026, and interviews will take place in the first half of September.
